Kabuki

Kabuki is home to Shin-Shinjuku GR School. The Kabuki Area and its members were first introduced in Denonbu 2nd LIVE -BREAK DOWN-.

Background[]

In the new ward division plan for Japan, the districts of Shinjuku and Shin-Okubo were merged and collectively named "Kabuki". Kabuki is one of Tokyo's largest entertainment districts and was popular with foreign tourists prior to the Singularity. Because of this, reforms to specific areas are being made to promote the vibrant Japanese culture. However, the ignored side of the area has been suffering from a large decrease of public safety, which is regarded as a major problem for the area.[1]

Kabuki is the most crime-ridden area in Tokyo. The area attracts many undesirable individuals, such as displaced youths, ex-convicts, wanted criminals and dubious foreigners. Additionally, anti-social organizations are often engaged in warfare with local groups, causing injury, assault, extortion, robbery, fraud, theft, and murder to be common occurrences in this area. Illegal businesses and technology are rampant. For these reasons, Kabuki was cut off from Shinjuku.[2]

Shinjuku[]

Shinjuku is the economic and political center of Tokyo. It houses the Tokyo Area Government's twin towers (formerly the Tokyo Metropolitan Government).

Shinjuku is a major terminal that connects to different areas and is home to many long-established department stores, businesses, restaurants, and entertainment hubs. New services are constantly being provided, and the city is bustling with life. Opposite the railway tracks lies the business district, which is home to many high-rise buildings and government's twin towers.

Because of Kabuki's lack of security, the government gave up on reforming the area and divided Shinjuku into several other areas to abandon Kabuki.

The region where the government building is located had it's name changed to Yodobashi.[2]
